² An association between a <DRM Geometry Hierarchy> instance and a <DRM Feature> instance indicates that the <DRM Geometry Hierarchy> and the <DRM Feature> are alternate representations of the same environmental object.

³ An association between a <DRM Property Grid> instance and a <DRM Feature> instance indicates that the <DRM Feature> and the <DRM Property Grid> (or some specific cell data within that <DRM Property Grid>) are alternate representations of the same environmental object. Each associated <DRM Property Grid> will indicate which is the case.

Example(s)

Consider a <DRM Model> of a forested area, consisting of a <DRM Geometry Model> describing its renderable geometry, and a <DRM Feature Model> describing it in terms of a collection of <DRM Areal Features>. The <DRM Geometry Model>'s <DRM Geometry Hierarchy> and the <DRM Feature Model>'s component <DRM Union Of Features> are connected by an association relationship, to indicate that they are alternate representations of the same entity.
Wherever the <DRM Model> is to be instanced, a <DRM Feature Model Instance> instance will be placed, with the appropriate <DRM Transformation> to locate it in space and any <DRM Expressions> required for <DRM Variables> within the <DRM Feature Model>.
