Definition

An instance of this DRM class is a specialized <DRM Control Link> instance that is used to provide the connection between an ordered aggregation of <DRM Expression> instances and the target fields of a <DRM Scale>.

The expression_index field specifies a <DRM Expression> component, the value of which specifies the value of the scale_amount field of the affected <DRM Scale> instances.

If non-zero, the lower_expression_index field specifies the index of the <DRM Expression> component defining the lower limit of the scaling. A value of zero means no lower limit was defined.

If non-zero, the upper_expression_index field specifies the index of the <DRM Expression> component defining the upper limit of the scaling. A value of zero means no upper limit was defined.

  Consider a <DRM Scale Control Link> instance that is to be driven using values from a <DRM Property Table> instance. The table value that is to be used is to be specified from outside the transmittal.

  For simplicity, in this example the controlling <DRM Expression> instance is just the table value itself, rather than some more complex <DRM Function> using the table value as an argument. Specifically, the <DRM Scale Control Link> instance’s controlling <DRM Expression> instance is the <DRM Predefined Function> instance specifying TABLE_VALUE, the argument of which is a <DRM Property Table Reference> instance referring to the <DRM Property Table> instance containing the scale values, as shown in Figure 6.276.

  The <DRM Variable> instance drives the <DRM Property Table Reference Control Link> instance, so that it determines which value is referenced from the <DRM Property Table> instance. To provide the hook for this <DRM Variable> instance to be set from outside the transmittal, the <DRM Variable> instance is associated with a <DRM Interface Template> instance (not shown).
