Definition

An instance of this DRM class specifies the specular coefficient that specifies how shiny a colour is to appear, based on the angle between lines from the observer to the coloured object to the light source.

The shininess field specifies the specular coefficient.

• Consider a <DRM Colour Table> instance with a <DRM Presentation Domain> component having presentation_domain = { OTW }, the entries of which are intended for use in representing metallic surfaces in the Out-the-Window (OTW) visual domain. Each <DRM Primitive Colour> instance in the table is defined by a <DRM Specular Colour> component and an <DRM Ambient Colour> component.

  Depending on the angles between the observer, the metallic surface, and the light source, the shininess of each <DRM Specular Colour> will vary. Hence, each <DRM Specular Colour> instance in the table is given a <DRM Colour Shininess> component, if the corresponding metal is sufficiently reflective.
