Superclass

Class

·         <DRM Transformation>

Subclass

·         <DRM LSR Transformation>

·         <DRM World Transformation>

Definition

This is an abstract DRM class that is applied to the child graph containing the transformation. <DRM Location 3D> and <DRM Reference Vector>s are always affected by <DRM Transformation>s. Angles and ranges are generally NOT affected by <DRM Transformation>s.

A <DRM World Transformation> can exist without having a matrix or transformation steps, in which case the identity matrix is assumed, but a <DRM LSR Transformation> shall have either a matrix or transformation steps, or both.

Example(s)

·         The location and orientation of a building instanced on to the terrain.

·         The <DRM Translation>, <DRM Rotation>, and <DRM Scale> applied to a gun barrel when modeled into a tank turret.

·         The location, and orientation of a grid defining a liquid water content layer referenced to the terrain.

·         The <DRM Transformation> that enables the use of a rocket model with horizontal orientation when it was modeled standing vertically on its fins.

·         The <DRM Transformation> into place of a logical <DRM Model> sub-graph, e.g., the superstructure of a ship.
