Property

Description

Superclass

·         <DRM Light Rendering Behaviour>

Class

·         <DRM Strobing Light Behaviour>

Subclass

·         none

Definition

This class indicates that the attributed object appears to be a strobing light.

Example(s)

·         Consider a model of an airport, in which the data provider wishes to place a strobing light string along a runway. The light emitted is negligible at an ordinary viewing range, in terms of cast shadows and so on, so it is most efficient to represent it as follows.

Strobing Light Behaviour, Example 1

Since the count specified by the <DRM Line> is greater than zero, it does not appear to be solid; each of its <DRM Vertex>s is shown independently. The light_diameter in pixels is not applicable, and the light is visible at any distance since no extingishing range is specified. The runway lights will always be on, unless a <DRM Light Rendering Properties Control Link> is added. The lights strobe every 2 seconds.

Notes

1 Represents the total period of time in seconds (both on and off).

2 Specifies period of time in seconds before light behaviour begins. It allows a series of lights to appear asynchronous.
