Superclass

Class

·         <DRM Attribute Set Table Library>

Subclass

·         none

Definition

A <DRM Library> of <DRM Attribute Set Table Group>s.

Example(s)

·         Consider a transmittal containing large stretches of various types of terrain, represented with texture-mapped <DRM Polygon>s, where the textures are blended with <DRM Colour>s.

For efficiency, the source of this transmittal uses a library of terrain textures, which are repeated at intervals across the terrain. Consequently, a limited number of <DRM Image Mapping Function>, <DRM Colour> pairs are repeated across a large number of <DRM Polygon>s as components.

Rather than creating many duplicate objects, the data provider creates an <DRM Attribute Set Table Library>. Each of the <DRM Image Mapping Function>, <DRM Colour> pairs is placed in a <DRM Attribute Set>, which is in turn stored in the primary <DRM Attribute Set Table> of an <DRM Attribute Set Table Group> within the library.

Each <DRM Polygon> is then given an <DRM Attribute Set Index> component, which is associated to the appropriate <DRM Attribute Set Table Group>.
