5.1.2 Overview

This International Standard specifies EDCS classifications that specify the type of environmental objects. Within the EDCS Classification Dictionary, each EC has a unique concept definition and is denoted by both a unique ECL and a unique ECC.

The EDCS Classification Dictionary is presented in 27 tables. One table contains all deprecated ECs. Each of the other 26 tables, one table for each letter of the alphabet, consists of ECs with the same first character of their ECLs. Within each table, the ECs are ordered alphabetically by the ECL.

5.2 EDCS Classification Dictionary

The ECs specified in this International Standard are presented in Tables 5.5 through 5.30, in Table A.3, and in Tables B.2 through B.27. The specification of each field of an EDCS Classification Dictionary entry is presented in Table 5.3.  The first three fields are presented in Tables 5.5 through 5.30 and in Table A.3. The label field and the last four fields are presented together in Tables B.2 through B.27. The ECLs in Tables 5.5 through 5.30 and Table A.3 are hyper-linked to the corresponding entries in Tables B.2 through B.27.
