Table 6.22— DRM_Attachment_Point

Property

Description

Superclass

·         <DRM SEDRIS Abstract Base>

Class

·         <DRM Attachment Point>

Subclass

·         none

Definition

An identified location and orientation where run-time systems (post-SEDRIS applications) can attach other <DRM Model>s.

Example(s)

·         Consider an aircraft Model whose hard points are represented in SEDRIS as <DRM Attachment Point>s. Consider a second <DRM Model>, representing a missile. We might have one missile hanging below the wing, and another missile hanging from the tip of the wing. In this case, the matrix formed by the <DRM Attachment Point>s would convey the appropriate rotation. The missile, on the other hand, would use an <DRM LSR Transformation Step> to move the missile's origin (which would probably be its <DRM Centre of Mass>) to the point on or near the surface where it attaches to the airplane's <DRM Attachment Point>.
